Dr. Renuka Gera is acting chair, and is a full professor in the Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Multidisciplinary team providing care to children with cancer, bleeding disorders, and other hematologic problems.

The Associate Chairs
There are two associate chairs in the Department of Pediatrics and Human Development: the associate chair for Academic/Education and Clinical Affairs, and the associate chair for Research. The department chair appoints both associate chairs.
Associate Chair for Academic/Education and Clinical Affairs
The associate chair for Academic/Education and Clinical Affairs is responsible to the department chair for overseeing departmental activities in undergraduate medical education, graduate medical education, and clinical programs.
Associate Chair for Research
The current associate chair for Research is Ira Gewolb, MD. The associate chair for Research is responsible to the department chair for coordinating departmental research activities.
