Barbara Ball-McClure to coordinate community engagement and outreach

Barbara Ball-McClureWe welcome Barbara Ball-McClure to the MSU College of Human Medicine team. As the Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator, she will spend most of her time and effort in the Lansing community assisting the College of Human Medicine to develop and enhance relationships with MSU-CHM's hospital partners, Lansing faculty, and community and business leaders in the Lansing region. Barbara lives in East Lansing and is an alum of Michigan State University. She is returning to MSU after a brief absence, previously having worked for the College of Osteopathic Medicine and the MSU Advancement Office.

While Barbara’s role will be to enhance our relationships in the Lansing community for all of the College of Human Medicine, she will be significantly involved with children’s health issues and in coordinating our continued commitment to both the Kids of Inspiration program (in conjunction with the MSU Women’s basketball team) and the Teddy Bear Hospital and Picnic.

In addition, Barbara will work to further engage our students and faculty in the Lansing community and to increase our visibility and brand in the Lansing region. She will be part of the External Relations team at CHM, which includes Jerry Kooiman (Assistant Dean for External Relations) and Mark Brieve (Director of Community Relations and Outreach) as the College of Human Medicine continues to seek ways to engage our hospital partners throughout our state-wide campus system.

She can be reached at Barbara.Ball-McClure@hc.msu.edu.
