MSU Children's Health

Michigan State University College of Human Medicine
From its beginning, the Department of Pediatrics and Human Development has sought to balance behavioral science, basic biological research, and clinical pediatrics. This orientation continues through our commitment to a comprehensive approach to the health and development of the child and the family.

Our mission is "to advance the healthy development and well being of children and adolescents through innovative medical education, research, clinical care, and advocacy, emphasizing community-based partnerships." To this end, the department offers a broad range of clinical and laboratory services to the children of Michigan. We draw on the talent of more than 100 faculty members located on six community campuses (Flint, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Saginaw, and Upper Peninsula), and over 500 enthusiastic volunteer teaching faculty members.
