The Michigan State University Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship is a three-year program accredited by ACGME. Clinical experience is provided at Sparrow Hospital, and research opportunities are available on both the Michigan State University campus and at Sparrow Hospital. The Division has a 2000 sq. ft. wet bench research facility on the MSU campus. Additional basic science opportunities are available through divisional collaboration with other MSU divisions and departments. Clinical research resources are available in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Close collaboration in Perinatal Epidemiology efforts exists in partnership with the Department of Epidemiology at MSU.
The goal of our fellowship program is to develop excellent, well-trained neonatologists with experience in clinical neonatology, research, teaching and administration.
Educational seminars are held weekly. A neonatal fellow, faculty or a guest speaker conducts these seminars.
The fellows play a significant role in the education of both pediatric residents and rotating residents from other specialties.
